Abandoned Dog Waited Outside School Every Morning For Help Until This Kind Man Appeared And Changed His Life

Caleb Schaffer, a primary school educator in Houston, Texas, arrived at his workplace one morning last month and spotted a dog. The dog was seated just outside the main entrance, wagging its tail vigorously upon seeing Caleb Schaffer.

Despite needing to head to work, Schaffer did not ignore the scared and unwell-looking canine. He proceeded to the Lab, but the image of the dog lingered in his mind, prompting him to return outside later to check on it.

Regrettably, the dog had vanished. Schaffer learned that someone had contacted animal control, yet the officers were unsuccessful in capturing the dog. However, when Schaffer arrived at work the following morning, the dog was once again present, waiting in front of the school. It appeared as though the dog immediately recognized Schaffer.

Schaffer observed that the dog’s skin was in poor condition. The dog was incessantly scratching and whimpering. Filled with sorrow, Schaffer entered the building to commence his teaching duties. He believed that the dog was seeking assistance and informed his students that he required their help in keeping an eye out for it. As soon as the school bell rang, Schaffer went outside to search for the dog, only to find that it had disappeared once more.

But when Schaffer got to work the next day, guess who was waiting for him ?

Schaffer was greeted by the dog as it ran up to him this time. In an attempt to entice the dog, he used tofu from his lunch. Eventually, he managed to pick the dog up and place it inside. With limited time before school started, Schaffer swiftly drove the dog back to his apartment, where his wife kept an eye on it while he hurried back to work.

Later on, Schaffer took the afternoon off so he could return home and assist the dog. Unfortunately, Schaffer couldn’t keep the dog as his apartment complex only allowed two dogs per unit, and he already had his maximum number of pooches.

Schaffer made numerous calls to rescue groups, inquiring if they had the capacity to accommodate the dog he had named Clive. Unfortunately, none of them had any available space. Recognizing Clive’s urgent need for care, Schaffer took him to the animal shelter in Harris County. Once there, Schaffer ensured that Clive received a bath with medicated products.

Subsequently, Schaffer commenced his efforts to find a solution for Clive. He shared the photos and videos he had captured with Urgent Shelter Pets of Houston’s Facebook page, seeking assistance. Meanwhile, time was running out for Clive at the shelter, causing Schaffer to worry that if no one intervened soon, euthanasia would be the unfortunate outcome.

Finally, Schaffer received some positive news. Volunteers from Lucky Lab Rescue and Adoption came across the video featuring Clive and expressed their desire to help him. A couple residing in Austin, Texas, generously offered to foster Clive, and the rescue organization coordinated his liberation from the shelter.

Upon meeting his foster parents, Clive’s eagerness to become a part of a loving family was unmistakable. With the provision of affection and veterinary attention, Clive is currently on the path to recovery and appears splendid.

Schaffer holds a deep affection for Clive, ensuring that he will forever hold a special place in his heart. To enlighten his students about the significance of responsible dog care, Schaffer recounts Clive’s tale.
