Dog Rescued After Being Nailed To Railroad Track , Finds Forever Home A Week Later
In the preceding month, a heartwarming rescue unfolded as rescuers narrowly averted a tragedy by saving a dog stranded on railroad tracks. Now, there’s even brighter news for this fortunate canine.
On March 30th, the City of San Antonio Animal Care Services shared a tale they dubbed “Miracle on the Tracks.” Officer Edwards of Animal Care Services responded to a distress call regarding a dog tethered to an active railroad track, unable to extricate itself.
Upon arrival, Officer Edwards swiftly sprang into action to liberate the Labrador retriever, which lay helplessly on the tracks. The dog’s leash had been fastened to the rail, hindering its escape and constricting further with every attempt to break free.
The officer diligently worked to build trust with the frightened animal, employing patience and gentle gestures. With calculated precision, he swiftly and securely liberated the dog from the perilous track.
Gratefully, he succeeded in freeing the dog mere moments before a thundering train barreled through. Had the officer not intervened when he did, the dog’s fate would have been undeniably tragic.
The circumstances surrounding how the dog ended up on the track remain ambiguous. Whether it was a deliberate act or a tragic accident, the relief felt by all was palpable knowing that disaster was narrowly averted and the canine was rescued in the nick of time. In a fitting gesture, the dog was christened “Lucky” by the animal care services.
Initial reports indicated that Lucky would require a period to acclimate and find stability, with plans for eventual adoption.
However, April 5 brought a heartwarming turn of events: Lucky found a loving home and was officially adopted, marking a delightful conclusion to his tale.
“After our first encounter, it was evident to me that he was precisely the type of canine that would seamlessly integrate into our family dynamic,” remarked the individual referred to in the post as Mr. C.
Prior to the adoption, Mr. C spent time with Lucky in the shelter’s play areas. Their compatibility was immediate, solidifying their decision that they were meant for each other.
According to Animal Care Services, Lucky underwent neutering and microchipping procedures prior to his transition to his new abode. Additionally, it was noted that Lucky has been christened “Duke” by his newfound caretakers.
It’s a relief to know that Lucky, now Duke, was rescued just in the nick of time and has found himself a wonderful new abode! Truly, a heartwarming miracle ❤️”
