Manny The Frenchie, Internet’s Most Famous French Bulldog, Has Died At 12 — Rest In Peace
A significant number of individuals enjoy keeping up with charming cats or dogs on various social media platforms. Witnessing delightful pet snapshots in your feed has the power to uplift your spirits.
Regrettably, a cherished icon of the internet’s pet community has passed away: Manny the Frenchie, a beloved canine sensation with an extensive following across social media platforms, has bid farewell at the age of 12.
Amber Chavez, the proud owner of Manny, took to his Instagram page to share the heartbreaking news. Despite numerous attempts, she confessed, “I’ve attempted to compose this post countless times, yet I still struggle to find the words that truly encapsulate Manny’s essence; he was simply extraordinary.”
“My beloved furry companion, my cherished piggy, my entire world, has departed for the ethereal realm. Our hearts ache inconsolably, and the depth of our longing for him knows no bounds. Personally, I feel forever changed in his absence.”
With a staggering four million followers across various online platforms, Manny held the esteemed title of the internet’s favorite French bulldog, endearing himself to countless admirers over the past decade through an array of adorable snapshots.
Residing in the vibrant city of Chicago were Manny and his devoted owners, Amber Chavez and Jon Huang. Named in homage to the renowned boxer Manny Pacquiao, Manny found his forever home when Amber and Jon adopted him as a puppy, a time when he was overlooked by others.
“Manny’s origin story is quite unique,” Jon recounted to HuffPost back in 2013. “He was the odd one out in his litter, seemingly unwanted.” Jon explained how they stumbled upon Manny, sharing, “The breeder offered us a discount, almost as if he was a special deal. But little did they know, he would become the most cherished member of our family.”
Nevertheless, their realization dawned swiftly upon them: their beloved dog was destined for stardom. “Right from the start, he’s been a magnet for attention,” Chavez remarked. “He’s just this adorable little bundle of joy, and everyone seems drawn to him.”
Following the viral sensation of images capturing Manny snugly nestled in a bathroom sink, the French bulldog embarked on a trajectory towards global internet stardom.
With each passing day, his legion of followers burgeoned, catching the eye of numerous luminaries. He became a featured model for Martha Stewart’s PetSmart collection, graced the screens of the Steve Harvey Show, and caught the admiration of icons like Snoop Dogg and boxer Miguel Cotto, who proudly sported Manny-branded merchandise.
Amber relinquished her position to fully devote herself to managing Manny, whose empire continued its expansion. Alongside, Manny’s canine companions ascended to online stardom, boasting their own dedicated pages.
The array of Manny’s merchandise extended to encompass shirts, calendars, throw pillows, and a literary gem titled “Manny the Frenchie’s Art of Happiness.”
Yet amidst their burgeoning success, Manny and his caretakers remained steadfast in their philanthropic endeavors. Leveraging Manny’s viral prominence, they mobilized efforts to raise funds for noteworthy causes. Profits from Manny’s merchandise and hosted events were channeled towards the support of organizations such as the French Bulldog Rescue Network, ASPCA, Best Friends Animal Society, the Special Olympics, and the National Cancer Society.
“In 2013,” Amber remarked, “Manny finds joy in extending a helping hand to his comrades.”
After many years of spreading joy and raising funds for those in need, Manny has now passed away, crossing over the rainbow bridge. The exact cause of his death remains unclear, although it’s noted that Manny had undergone a tracheostomy last year.
In her statement, Amber expressed gratitude for the immense love Manny received worldwide and found solace in the shared grief of many. She vowed to cherish his memory eternally.
Farewell, Manny. Your legacy of spreading happiness to countless lives will be deeply missed. 💔🌈
